CAPTURE ALS participants are invited to participant in optional Participant Engagement Webinars. These 1-hour, online webinars, held approximately 4 times/year, include a presentation about a topic relevant to CAPTURE ALS and ALS research. The presentation is followed by an interactive, question & answer (Q&A) time with the presenter and with CAPTURE ALS team members. We hope that study participants will benefit from the opportunity to interact with doctors and researchers who are involved in CAPTURE ALS.

Biomarkers, and the Microbiome in ALS (November 21, 2023)
Dr. Gerald Pfeffer is a clinician-researcher at University of Calgary and a member of the Executive Committee of CAPTURE ALS. His research focuses on biomarkers and microbiome studies in ALS, as well as studies to improve diagnosis and research participation in other motor neuron diseases such as spinal bulbar muscular atrophy.
CAPTURE SLA et le paysage de lat recherche sur la SLA (November 14, 2023)
Le Dr Nicholas Dupré, membre du comité exécutif de CAPTURE ALS, chercheur principal au site de recherche de Québec, neurologue et directeur de la clinique des maladies neuromusculaires et neurogénétiques du CHU de Québec – Université Laval, présente une introduction et une vue d’ensemble de CAPTURE ALS. Dans ce premier webinaire d’engagement des participants en langue française, il discute également de la façon dont CAPTURE ALS s’inscrit dans le paysage plus large de la recherche sur la SLA. De plus, Clémence Tremblay-Desbiens, coordonnatrice de la recherche CAPTURE ALS au CHU de Québec – Université Laval, présente un aperçu des évaluations CAPTURE ALS, des données recueillies et de la façon dont ces données contribuent aux connaissances et à la recherche sur la SLA.

In this first participant engagement webinar, he also discusses how CAPTURE ALS fits into the broader ALS Research Landscape.
